SEATTLE, WA

Depending on the weather, an experience in Seattle can be extremely variable. The locals claim “Seattle knows how to Summer'“ and I must agree, that is my favorite season to visit.

Although famous for it’s iconic skyline, Seattle and it’s surrounding neighborhoods are VERY green - there are lush, beautiful trees guarding the city, which is weaved in and out of various waterways. This is definitely a city to see by both land and boat (or a sea plane, if that’s your thing).

SEE

  • Spend some time exploring the vast Art scene of Northern Washington. A personal favorite of mine is the Chihuly Garden and Glass, which is conveniently located Downtown to be able to hit a few Tourist Favorites like the Space Needle.

  • If you visit in a warmer month, there are lots of Paddleboard, Kayak, and Boat rental options to enjoy on Lake Union. If you can make it out to Lake Washington, it’s much larger and cleaner but definitely need a boat.

EAT

  • Coffee - Grape Juice is a small Natural wine shop that has excellent Matcha, coffee, and small bites! Also, Sea Wolf Bakery is beyond - but so are the lines.

  • Farmer’s Markets- While Public Market located Downtown Seattle in Pike Place is the most famous (and where I had the best lox bagel of my life at Bagelbop), there are fresh and local Markets all over the city - hint : get fish.

  • Lunch - Hattie’s Hat is a reliable and traditional spot great for Brunch or Lunch.

  • Dinner - For a fancier evening with lots of tapas and local farm fresh items, Manolin is a New American eatery. Their Brazilian Cheese bread literally melts in your mouth (and somehow is Gluten Free).

PLAY

  • If you love a Western theme (like me), Shingletown Saloon is the place. Not only do they have country music Bingo nights, but there are hay barrels on the ground and their chicken fingers are 10/10.

  • Sea Monster Lounge in Wallingford has live music most nights. I caught a Funk show there (cover was $12) and it did not disappoint.

  • Union Saloon is a great neighborhood spot for sidewalk Cocktails and small bites. I haven’t tried it but apparently their fried chicken is amazing.

SHOP

  • Prism is my favorite! Located in Downtown Ballard on a street full of shops, restaurants, and bars, this is a must-stop for unique and local clothing, accessories, and beauty.

  • If Zara were to reenter the market with a Country Western focus, then Gold Dogs would be the place. Lots of affordable denim, hats, and boots to put together a very fun look for when you inevitably see Taylor Swift in concert.

EXERCISE

  • Commune is a beautiful Yoga Studio with a Tulum-esque vibe.
